Pase is a creative studio and independent space dedicated to sound research, artistic curation, and the development of immersive formats. We are active in the fields of spatial audio, interdisciplinary production, and advanced education. We collaborate with artists, institutions, universities, and technical partners.

Artists and researchers looking to develop projects involving sound, space, or technology. Cultural institutions seeking curated collaborations or original sound content. Research centers and universities interested in experimental activities and advanced training. Companies exploring new sound languages or aiming to support research and high-level education.

Yes. We carefully evaluate proposals that align with our curatorial direction. You can submit a spontaneous application via the Submissions form on our website. We ask for clear, concise, and complete proposals.

Only in selected cases. We are not a service provider, but a research-oriented studio. We can provide technologies, spaces, and expertise for projects with strong conceptual content. Requests must be submitted via the Facilities form, with a clear outline of goals and needs.

We work with a range of systems and setups, including d&b Soundscape, wave field synthesis, custom multichannel configurations, Dolby Atmos, and custom Max/MSP patches. Sound spatialization is a compositional language, not a technique. Every setup is tailored to the specific project.

Pase can take on different roles depending on the context: we act as sound curators, support the production and post-production of works, and serve as technical and conceptual partners in complex sound installations or performances. At the same time, we operate as a center for applied research on sound, perception, and emerging technologies, and as a host for residencies, workshops, and site-specific experiments.

Yes, especially with companies interested in exploring new sound languages, products, or experiential formats. We can co-develop research and development programs, design immersive sound identities, structure internal training modules, and support testing and prototyping processes within a controlled environment.

Pase is an independent structure that doesn’t rely on recurring public funding. We sustain our work through artistic and professional collaborations, residencies and workshops, partnerships with institutions and companies, and the community’s voluntary support.

Yes. Our Educational Program offers a range of advanced learning opportunities, including masterclasses and workshops led by artists, researchers, and educators. We also design custom training projects for festivals, academies, conservatories, and cultural institutions, with a focus on immersive audio technologies and transdisciplinary practices. These activities are available by invitation or application and are often connected to ongoing projects.

In selected cases, yes. We support partners in structuring solid proposals in cultural, artistic, and technological fields, especially when Pase is engaged as a curatorial, artistic, technical, or research partner.

The studio is not regularly open to the public, but we occasionally host open studios, public presentations, and previews of works in progress. Updates about these events are shared through our newsletter and Instagram page.

We are located in Venice, Italy, in an independent space housed in a renovated former wood workshop, now equipped for immersive audio production, technical research, and artist residencies. The studio is accessible by appointment only.

Pase was founded in 2011 by Valeria Zane and Victor Nebbiolo di Castri, and is now an open platform for collaboration with professionals, researchers, artists, and institutional partners.

Yes, we offer equipment rental and studio space for specific audio productions, equipped with advanced technologies such as a 64-channel 3D monitoring setup, high-end audio interfaces, and a wide selection of microphones.

Absolutely. We welcome collaborations with artists, curators, organizations, and companies interested in exploring sound’s potential. We’re open to dialogue about possible partnerships.

Proposals should include a clear project description, feasibility plan, expected visibility or impact, and a transparent outline of needs. This helps us assess whether a collaboration is viable and aligned with our direction.

Co-production is possible when a project offers strong visibility, long-term value, or significant alignment with our mission. Each proposal undergoes careful review.

Pase is primarily a workspace, but public events can be hosted when the necessary legal and safety requirements are met by the third-party organizer. Any such event must be formalized via contract and comply with local regulations.

We consider each proposal’s consistency with our mission, clarity of vision, potential impact, originality, and the feasibility of what is being requested.

Proposals are reviewed by our core team -directors, founders, and artistic consultants- to ensure they meet our curatorial and operational standards.

Pase offers a wide range of sound production services, accompanying each project from the initial concept and sound strategy through to recording, editing, and advanced 3D mixing. We design original soundscapes and spatial compositions, develop the technical setup for immersive installations, and create custom software and interaction systems tailored to sound-based experiences.
